Joey is the picture of a local boy made good, wearing the uniform of the Goldenfields guard with a mix of pride and casual familiarity. He has the sturdy, corn-fed build of someone who grew up working the fields before taking up the spear, with a face that is open, friendly, and vaguely reminiscent of the childhood playmate Elric remembers. He isn’t the most imposing warrior; his armor fits “good enough,” and his stance is more relaxed than regulation dictates, often leaning against his spear or the gatehouse wall. He has a ready smile and a face that seems incapable of holding a grudge, looking exactly like the kind of guy who would let a friend sneak back into town after curfew.
