Biography
This unnamed assassin was a high-level martial artist hired to kill Elric Lightborn. He ambushed Elric by creating an illusion of a tavern entrance, then kicking him through a magical portal into an underground tomb.
Despite his superior level (CR 12-13) and the advantage of surprise, he was defeated by Elric in brutal combat.
Appearance & Personality
A figure of honed lethality, the Assassin was clad in simple, nondescript ascetic robes that concealed a physique of wiry, corded muscle. His hands and forearms were wrapped in strips of heavy, enchanted cloth that crackled faintly with suppressed electrical energy, marking him as a master of the open hand. He stood with a perfect, unnerving stillness, his breathing so controlled it was barely perceptible. There was nothing extraneous about him—no armor, no weapons, no ornaments—only the terrifying self-assurance of a living weapon who required nothing but his own body to end a life.
He operated with a detached, professional melancholy, viewing his contracts as inevitable transactions rather than personal vendettas. He spoke rarely, and when he did, it was with a polite, almost apologetic tone, acknowledging the tragedy of a life cut short while remaining unwavering in his intent to cut it. His discipline was absolute; he felt no anger in combat, only focus.
